Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth are usually the last teeth to come into the mouth, and don’t appear until the late teens or early twenties. It is not uncommon for people to experience problems with their wisdom teeth.
Complications can include:
- Over-eruption
- Impaction (getting stuck in the jaw)
- Infection
- Cyst formation
- Erosion cavities in teeth next to the wisdom teeth as a result of the above, wisdom teeth may require removal due to pain, infection, swelling or pressure against other teeth. Surgical extractions can be carried out under local anaesthesia or with our in-house anaesthetist using sleep dentistry. We can perform almost all wisdom teeth extractions here at the practice, all while you are asleep!
